Bicycle Racks Dimensions

One of the most common questions we get asked is how to efficiently and neatly layout a set of bicycle parking stands in a given space.
If you are using bicycle parking stands then the most important thing to do is to place the stands far enough from a wall or other obstuction so that the wheel inserted into the stand has enough space to poke through the other side. Please take a look at the pictures on our Bike Stands Photos gallery which shows you exactly how the front or rear wheel of a bicycle fits into our stands.
My general recommendation is that you place the bike stands no closer than 300mm to a wall (assuming you wish to install the stand parallel to the wall) so that the bike tyre can ‘poke out’ without coming in contact with the wall.
Likewise, please remember to leave a little bit of room to the left and right of the bike stand to allow for the bits of the bike that stick out – such as the pedals and the handlebars. So, assuming you are installing a 5 bike stand (1580mm in overall width) you will need approximatley 2.2 to 2.3 m of wall space.
